Let Them Eat Cake

Congratulations! Your number has been chosen, so it's your turn to compete in the latest hit game show "Let Them Eat Cake!" Now's your chance to win some great prizes to bring some joy to your life!

All you have to do is not die. And maybe murder a few competitors along the way.

• Enter the arena in a dystopian game show where you have to risk your life for meager prizes.
• Fight through three procedurally generated levels to find the buttons you need to press to proceed to the next level.
• Shoot your enemies, or shove them away to make your escape
• Uses a hybrid real-time/turn-based system where the world only moves when you move.

Download cake.zip for the version created during the 7DRL time frame. cake_post7drl.zip contains some balance changes to make the game less difficult.

This is a roguelike I created for the 2023 7DRL competition. All "art" and programming was done from 3/5/2023-3/11/2023. It does use an existing engine I had been working on for a different project, which provided rendering, pathfinding, line of sight, and other similar functionality.
